I am a aspiring web game/software developer.
I mainly code in Javascript, every now and then Python or Godot.
I stared programming in 6th grade, during Covid, on Khan academy. I kinda just wanted to learn how, not for really any reason at the time. Over the next couple years, I became pretty fluent programming on Khan academy, but I felt limited by the environment, so I started learning a few different languages, like python, C#, godot, etc. Eventrally, I ended up settling back to JS, as it's just the language I was most confortable with. But that time was different, as I was fully working in a browser rather then a sandboxed learning platform. Then my skill started to majorly grow. Over the next few years in highschool, I learend content creation on youtube, godot, python/pygame, how to use firebase and make multiplayer/online services. How to make advanced data structure, etc. And that brings us to today. I am mainly doing game development, with a side of software & game asset creation.
At heart, I am a game developer, and I didn't want to make my own site a boring, static site. You may notice the stars in the background. It's a little incremental game I made called Shoot the stars. Try clicking play & click on the stars to gain some star fragments.
I had originally started making games in 6th grade for fun, and enjoyed the process of being able to interact with stuff \ I make, and game development has so many aspects that where you can learn anything and immediately apply it.
Easily Tic Tac Challenge - It's by far my most ambitious project, and it's nice to see it complete. It's also the only game where I have made money off of donations.
Mostly scope creep & burnout.
I mainly think about the target goals & audience and build from it, and just sort through random ideas in my head until something fits good enough to work on.
I mainly want to focus on cleaner code & designing with a story in stuff I make.
Anything I do I will go the extra mile, I will also try to see how much I can go without adding more elements, if I can get away with reusing a element in a creative way rather then adding a new one, I will. It's very clear with this looking at the puzzle games I have made, Paint Factory & Tic Tac Challenge, where there is very few base machines/symbols, but seemingly infinte combonations of them. Anything you think can happen in the projects I will try to make happen with them. From simple stuff like differnt colors or button animations to multiplayer in DDLT to corruption to 3d rendering type optimization in Dicey sprite & tile maker.
My next couple big goals is reworking DASMB and learning full-stack web development to be able to make online stuff, thats more capable then the client-side only colab stuff I did in DDLT and Dicey sprite & tile maker.
